Topic Dog Boards / Health / 'SHED-STOP' - Is it safe?

Has anyone ever used a product called 'shed stop'? It is supposed to reduce shedding! I have obvious reservations, it sounds too good to be true.. how can a product really reduce shedding? and if it works, does anyone think there would be an adverse effect on the coat and more importantly the health of the dog? I would love to hear your opinions on such a product :)
Thanks
Emz

Have looked at and in some cases tried some of the products over the years that claim to reduce shedding or increase the speed of replacement. None harmed the dog, as far as I know, and none made the slightest difference to anything but my bank balance.

Shedding is a natural occurance and happens for a reason - I would be very reluctant to use anything lke this .
I suppose its like all the lotions and potions that promise to stop men going bald ?? ;)
They promise but dont deliver .

Hi there,
I wouldnt expect it to work for a minute, but you never know unless you ask :) and as I am going to be getting a Cocker pup soon I need all the help I can get :) LOL Shedding isnt really that important to me as all my previous dogs have shed, ALOT, so I am quite prepaired for the hoovering marathon that awaits me :)
Thanks
Em
