Hi all. Recently tried raw chicken drumsticks for Buddy as i thought bone would help with occassional soft poo problem. After 3 drumsticks(one each day and absolutely loved) his poo was terrible which i'm putting down to extra protein. Someone on another thread suggested ground sterile bone which can be bought from Pets at home.
Does anyone have a link for this.

i have used this ground sterile bone mix.i think its poor quality.i wouldnt recommend it.why raw drumsticks?why not try raw chicken wings?they worked a treat and the poop was solid.since using pure barf the poop has been solid and no smell.best thing is the dogs love it.obviously you have to add little by little or the dog will get runs with whatever food.
Try wings rather than drumsticks - the bone/meat ratio is much better. With that it should firm them up for you.

I agree - drumsticks are weight bearing bones and as such much more likely to splinter and cause internal injury - wings are very soft because of the speed these birds are reared at.
