I don't know about Australian Shepherds, but I do know that you can't leave any dog, whatever breed, all day.

I'm sorry but I'm afraid I have to agree with Liberty - it wouldn't be fair to leave any dog, far less a puppy, all day.
Is this what you would have to do? Maybe you should register - sure there are lots of people who have to work all day, who have happy, healthy dogs but there are also lots who have miserable, destructive dogs. There are always 2 sides to the coin - but if you register - you'll certainly get lots of good advice.

Sorry Sarah - I really don't think that it would be a good idea for you to have an Aussie puppy if it will be left on its own all day.

Aussies pups really do need the stimulation and reassurance as puppies, to ensure that they grow into social, confident dogs. They are very bright, and want to please you - and a bored Aussie will be a destructive Aussie, who will bark (or howl) to register his or her disapproval!

Please think again about this - you say you have a rescue Aussie Cross - from this, do I take it you are in the US? I know that there are a lot of Aussies in rescue over there - and maybe you could give a home to another, older Aussie.
