Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Which complete food?
- By guest [gb] Date 10.08.03 15:01 UTC
Hi all,
We are due to collect our pup in a few weeks and know that the breeder is currently feeding iams complete food. We have considered the BARF diet but are currently not in a position to try this. My question is, which food or foods (complete) are the best to be feeding? We have seen so many what with Iams, Eukanuba, Hill's. Any help would be most appreciated

Thanks

Pat

If you like the condition of your pup, and presumably you do or you would not have bought it :), why not continue with the food it is obviously thriving on?

Hi, Have now registered.
Think you misunderstood the post. Of course I will keep pup on the same food if possible have just heard some things good and bad about various foods and was wanting people's experiences both good and bad with complete food

You will need to keep the pup on the same food as the breeder feeds it for a few weeks after you bring it home. To be honest, if a food suits a pup's digestion, and it is thriving on it, why change it?

I think with such a question you will get lots of different replys anyway and end up even more confused . :)
Gus is on Hills Science plan as it suits him .

Kassie came on Eukanuba from the breeder and she's always done well on it so I've never changed it:)

Hi Pat, I am having the same dilema, My pup a Bichon Frise is 14weeks old, came from the breeder on IAMs, now wont look at it so I am struggling to find an alternative, without beef in that she will eat, so many people suggest different ones I am confused. Like you I would welcome advice. Regards Pauline.

ours came on Pedigree but in my experience has been really rich - we put him on to Iams and he and his coat his wonderful - he's really happy, I asked about changing it but when everything is okay the resounding advice is to keep them on what they are okay on. My mum has a golden retriever who has a real problem with any food, I'm thankful that we are okay (touch wood)
