Some of you will aready have read about my PRAT of a neighbour but please bear with me.

The dog is now being left all afternoon in the front 'garden' (5ft from Door to Gate, 14 ft across, 4ft wall) in full sun UNSUPERVISED. Needless to say it's leaping at the walll and barking/growling at anyone or anything that goes past (this is very alarming for most people)although in between is quiet so the episodes are very sudden. He has already cleared the wall on a number of occasions  luckily I was there to prevent him connecting with the frail person he was giong for. Because he isn't being supervised the dog has learned nothing (duh) and is gradually becoming worse. The PRAT is usually in the BACK garden (I think he likes to hear his dog doing this as he usually laughs, I suppose he thinks it makes him 'hard' )

I can't help feeling its only a matter of time before someone is hurt (or someones dog) but how do I approach the PRAT?? to warn him of the consequences?? What exactly are the consequences?? (I've never had an aggressive/out of control dog) Am I right in thinking that as the owners aren't with the dog then he is not under proper control???

The PRAT is not very approachable and has been known to be violent on many occasions so I want to be as subtle as possible while still getting the message accross that this is unacceptable BEFORE someone gets hurt. (the dog reacts to children in the same way)

Sorry to be longwinded but I wanted to give as many details as possible.

Report him and let someone else dealwith it if he is a nasty bugger
DONT put yourself your family or dogs at risk.

The police could have a discreet word, the RSPCA or the
housing association (if he is one) but dont risk yourselves.

This is the sort of thing the local dog warden should also deal with.

Well after a discussion with him on Saturday when I asked him to turn his boom-box down (he seems to only speak in four letter words  )so that my widows didn't break, I decided to let things run their course, if he wants to get into trouble then he's welcome. I'm just going to make sure that my dog/child is not left unattended. I have to feel sorry for someone who has to compensate this much though
As they say "you can cure pork but you can't educate it"

As far as the other people are concerned, most of them seem as daft as he is, but there again most people around here would have to see a dog attack to be able to understand the damage that is possible.
