I'll soon be the owner of a 8 week old Doberman pup, so I'm looking for both a good general puppy book, and one more specificly about the Doberman breed.

Any good ones I should look for?

I would recommed 'The Perfect Puppy' by Gwen Bailey for a general puppy book, don't know about dobe books though.

Also if you haven't already, try and find a good puppy class in your area and book your puppy in. Where are you based? Maybe someone here can recommend a good class?

There are quite a few new Dobe mums and dads on the board. Lola (my girl) is 14 weeks now.
I also recommend Gwen Baily's book. I also found the following Dobe books useful
Dobermanns Today - Jimmy Richardson (Roanoke Dobes)
Dobermann - Clive and Nancy Evans (Amazon Dobes)
Dobermanns - Mark Ladd.

Also Christine of Kerioak Dobes is a Champdogger and Dobe expert. I'm sure all will be helpful if you have specific queries. I know they have all helped me loads. :D

Doglopaedia (written by the same people as The Book of the Bitch)

For Dobe books you have been given two I consider the best - Mark Ladd and then Jimmy Richardson's newer one. I have not read the Evans' so cant' comment on that one.

Welcome to the Dober-gang! I've got a brown male dobe, who's 4 months on Tuesday. Seems like only yesterday he was a tiny pup (actually, he was only a tiny pup for about 3 seconds). Wish you luck with yours. :)
