We have a 7 week old Akita and she goes mad for feet and ankles!! just loves them. I think it is just a puppy thing. We have been giving her all kinds of toys but nothing measures up. Is any one else having the same trouble?

Hi
I have a 13week Bichon, we have just started puppy socialisation & this was one of the questions I asked the trainer, if they nip/bite ankles or trousers which mine does, just stand still & say ouccch quite firmly, I have found it is working, it stops Molly in her tracks, the same with biting hands etc, if it continues after the second time stop the game & walk away as if you are saying "I am not playing if you keep biting". Hope this helps, I am no expert but passing on advice given to me. Good Luck. Regards Pauline.

It is quite normal for pups as they love to chew and mouthe whether it be fingers or toes . They need to be aware that mouthing is not acceptable and the best way is simply to say "NO" firmly . If you sometimes let the mouthing become a game you cant blame the pup for not listening to you when you try to then tell the pup no . It will be too confusing .
Can I ask why you have a pup so young ( 6 weeks ????)
