We have got a 2yr old border collie who got out and at the time we didn't realise she was in season at the time she came back 4 days later after someone had found her and raang our number of her tag they said she had been running round with another male dog. We took her the vets to have her checked over and he said she stands a good chance of being pregnant. Please can anyone give any advise on bringing up puppies we know the basic of feeding mum up and worming etc. Are homes going to be hard to find for the puppies and how much is best to ask for them as we dont want them going to any old home. Dad was said to be a big blk n tan collie x

Hi guest,
I feel you are going to have a lot of questions- why don't you register with us so that you can ask away!?

Don't cross your bridges before they're built! Are you sure yet that she's pregnant? Your vet should be able to scan her at about 28 days (though there have been dubious results from this) or x-ray her at about 6 weeks to confirm pregnancy. You wouldn't be increasing her food or altering her lifestyle before this anyway. And the vet is the best person to ask for worming advice - there are many different products available, with to be used at different stages.
Hope this helps.
:)
