We had a thunderstorm last night and Morse barked like fury so my husband moved his basket into No1 daughter's room next to the kitchen where he usually sleeps. He moved Morse because we had some complaints about Morse barking when my men came home late at night - this has now stopped. She was too tired to pet him and he soon calmed down - is this unwise, does it mean he could be gun shy?

Hi please try not to make a big thing about it just act as if nothing is or has happened buy a tape with thunderstorms on it so that the dog can here it most ot the time if dog is working dog then make a tape of gun fire and play it .Jackie

My springer is scared of thunder but is fine around gunshot. My gwp barks at thunder and again is fine around gunshot.

Hello all thanks for the sensible advice and reassurance ! i wonder if the 1812 Overture would be useful as an alternative to taped gunfire?
Morse is back in the kitchen and the neighbours have been chatted with about the barking. Funny they didn't hear Morse barking over the thunder.
