Dawn, I got a 10 gen. circular one from an advert in Dogworld years ago. To be honest it was totally impractical once you got past the first 5 generations. There was no room to write names down and it was unreadable. :-( If you are going to use short numbers instead of dogs names, you might get away with it. In the end I opted for a book format.
If no one here comes up with a company name, try running a search with Google. There is a company in Canada that does them. :-)

Thanks Twills
I have seen a round pedigree and understand what u mean, though I thought after all the work I have put in I would like it framed. Where can I get a book format pedigree from and what is the most generations they do as I am getting very addicted to this!! LOL

I have three of the 10 generation round pedigree forms up on my wall - my husband had them framed for me as a birthday present and the framer said I must be insane :-(((( !! I got them from Breeders Kennel Stationery - Their phone number was (last time I got one) 01380 831221

When I do a 10 or 12 generation in a book format I start of with a 5 or 7 generation pedigree and do another 5 generation pedigree for each dog in the last generation - takes quite a while!

Which pedigree system do you use - there is one where someone has developed a 10 generation layout (somewhat difficult to read) which is printable on 4 A4 sheets

Edited to include phone no.

When I do a 10/12 generation pedigree I use the same book format as Christine. (Usually, A4 ~ Ringbinder) I start out with a 5 generation pedigree making sure that I number the 5th generation dogs. Then start another 5 generation pedigree for each of the 5th generation dogs (making sure that each pedigree is clearly marked at the top of the page with the relevent 5th generation dogs 'number') .. gawd ...hope you can follow that ! It was very tempting to *carry on* when I reached the 10/12 generation as the German Stud Books were excellent records, but I thought that I had better stop and get a life back :P lol

When it is complete, I then transfer the whole lot by hand into a good quality hardbacked book. Took months but I was pleased with the end result.

You are right Dawn ..its is totally addictive

Dawn, is your mothers dog ok now ?

Hi Twilly
My mothers dog has this problem intermitantly. I have told her he is over weight but she wont have it. He is only 2 years old and is very very lively. I think the problem is when he jumps of the back of the sofa all that weight landing on those little legs is the problem. But he is very spoiled and mum say oh hes just cuddly, its yours that are thin. Whippets were not meant to be over weight and a weight problem can cause other problems as you know. My dogs are just the right weight for thier size and are very healthy. But you know mums they wont be told!!! Even the Champion dog which I used to show for them (he is now retired) is getting fat. She doesnt show so rarely sees other whippets to see that they should be like mine, well covered but not fat!
Oh Well!!!!

Longdog

BTW I managed to get a round 10 generation pedigree and I see what you mean but am still addicted!! Cant leave it alone LOL!
Dont know what is happening with the MSN chat someone keeps deleting all the communities. When we find a permanent one I'll send you the addy.

Hi Longdog

Did you get the 10 gen pedigree from the number given or somewhere else?

Good luck with it - it took me over 2 years (pre internet days) to find all the information on my first one.
