Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Should I continue mixing
- By debbie88 [gb] Date 04.08.03 09:32 UTC
As a novice dog owner we purchsed our 8 week old pup and the breeder said she was eating a complete food (soaked mixed with a little tin puppy food. However when I feed her she keeps picking out the meat and leaving the rest, should I just give her the tinned puppy food which it says on the tin is a complete food or should i continue with mixing.

Thanks
Debbie

Debbie,

It's good to keep a puppy on the breeder's choice of food until they fully settle in to their new home.

Try smushing the bits of tinned food with a fork until there are no bits to pick out. Soak the dry food in a little water until it is nearly soft and then mix the tinned food with the dry. Mush this with a fork so the two foods are nearly indistinguishable.
