Topic Dog Boards / Showing / size for dog cage
- By sarahl [fr] Date 04.08.03 07:40 UTC
Hi, after going to a show on Saturday I have decided to buy a cage for my two beagles. Can anyone tell me what size would be suitable to put the two of them in. I've been looking on 'ebay' for different sizes but don't want to buy one too big if it is not necessary. I'm thinking of a length of approx 35" as it would also go in my 106 but not sure if this is big enough. Thanks.

Sure that would be plenty big enough, it is not like at home they are not in the cage for ages. Have always found we think they need more room that they do, you give them a nice big cage and they curl up together in one corner. Don't forget you will have to carry it, so as small as possible and as light as possible.

If you go to an show with the 2, if there are cages for sale they will let you try for size. Don't be shy, have a try also fold it up and see how heavy it is. Have you thought of a fabric one?

Cages should be big enough for the dog to stand up and turn round in.
