Hi there,
my bichon frise bitch came into season a couple of months ago, and today 4 of her nipples have swollen slightly and are looking a bit red. They don't seem to be sore, and no milk seems to be coming out. I was wondering if this sounds like a psudo pregnancy. She is a little chubby, but hasn't really put any weight on. She has been acting a little strange, but we are moving house, so I think that it just because of that.
If it does sound like a psudo pregnancy, what should I do?
Thanks very much.

Hi,
Not an answer I'm afraid but I will be interested in any replies you do receive as we have a 15 month cocker spaniel bitch who had her first season at the end of May and I've recently noticed her nipples and/or the area around the nipples seem to be bloated/swollen.
A phantom pregnancy did cross our minds although she's fine in herself and not acting strange in any way. We'll certainly be asking the vet when she goes for her health check in a couple of weeks because she is due for spaying in September and obviously we don't want to be putting her at risk in any way!
We've also had an addition in the family, another cocker spaniel - 9 weeks old yesterday, a dog this time though and we also considered whether that may be related in any way.
Hope you get some helpful replies :-)
