i have a 3 year old boxer called cassie, i had her spayed 6 months after her first session this is when the vet said was the right time. but ever since then she drips urine, sometimes its so bad that it is like a pool of wee. She gets so up tight and sresses out as she knows she is doing it.
I have been back to the vets a number off times and all they say is to put her on tablets but she will have to be on them for the rest off her life, i do not want my 3 year old on tablets for the rest of her life.
has anyone got any ideas that we can try.
Thanks

If she is going to be spayed so very young it should have been 3 month after the season not 6, in fact it should be 3 month after whether it be the 1st or the 6th season. Leaking is one of the recongnised problem associated with spaying, lots get away without problems until old age but a suprising number have a problem almost from the start. The vet should be able to supply hormone tablets to help with the problem but she may need to take them for the rest on her life because you need to replace the missing hormones that she is not able to produce for herself, I don't think there is any other way round but to put her on HRT.

I changed my bitches diet when she started leaking. I was given propalin by the vet but they didn't work so someone suggested lowering the protein.
I'm not sure if it was a coincidence, but she stopped leaking when I put her on a lower protein diet. Might be an avenue worth trying at least. As I said, it could have been just a coincidence though.
