Does or has anyone used a Dog Walker? I know they should be insured and Police checked; but what on average do they charge for group walks or individual walks?

the dog walker that we use charges £6 for half an hour walk
They dont ever do group walks and will only take out more than one if they belong to the same family and then up to 3 depending on the size of the dog

We use a neighbour though becasue we find that too expensive to use every day
We pay our neighbour £75 a month to take out or play with our lab twice a day

Thanks Rachel :D Blimey £6 for half an hour
To be fair tho, if it's one dog at a time, they're not going to get rich quickly :) Sounds like you've got a good neighbour !!

Hi

Our dog walker/sitter comes in to let our dogs out at lunch time. She comes quite a distance to do this and charges us £5 per visit - she is meant to be there for about 30 mins but it turns out that she spends about an hour if she can.

She does also walk and charges a flat rate of £4.00 per dog and then a mileage charge on top - though that isn't very much.

She is police checked, insured and a member of the national pet sitters organisation. She sends text messages to let us know she has been in and that everything is ok.

yeah luckily for us our neighbour is fantastic

she recently cut down her working hours becasue of stress so she's perfect
She also wanted a dog herself but decided against it because her kids are too young

So we sort of share Darcy

We do use the company for a dog sitting service
its £14 for 24 hours which is great
She goes to their house and is treated as one of the family
She absolutely loves it!!!

Always go on recomendations as I have a friend who was paying a dogwalker who wasnt even turningxup and her poor dog never even got to go out !! :(
It was only when she suspectd that things werent being moved in the house ( ie lead etc) and then a neighbour mentioned that the walker never called anymore that she realised :(

Unfortunately I don't know any one who uses a Dog Walker, I'm beginning to think about packing in my job (I much prefer dogs to people anyway :D ) and starting up as a Dog walker myself.............. Oh if only !!
