i have a miniature daschund will be 5 in sept this has happened twice in the last 2 months she had a fit not lasted long then right as rain when she has it she licking her lips away and back legs go is this a common thing if so what can i do about it

It could be but somehow it doesn’t sound quite right to me. Have you seen your vet about it? Even then, unless your vet see the dog whilst it is happening it would be almost impossible to tell. It could be Petite Mall I suppose, I would doubt Grand Mall. But there are other things it could be including with a daschund, a trapped nerve. What were the events leading up to the "Fit"?

I had a mini long who used to fit. She only had about two a year on average, so therefore didn't need any meds.
All i used to do was make sure she was safe (unable to hurt herself on anything), whilst she was having them, and comfort her when she was coming round.
My vet never got to see her having a fit as by the time we got there she had always come round.
You need to keep a close eye on what happens when the fit occurs. And as John suggests, please take her to the vets to get a check over and describe the fit to the vet in detail.
