Hi,
Some of you will know I post occasionally in response to others but rarely ask a question mostly because most of my questions have already been asked and answered on here ;)
But this isn't a quesion just something I want to say.The nice things about dog ownership.
I have a 8 &1/2 month old Stafford Sal, who is the best dog I and the family (extended) have ever owned
she is a friend a pal and best friend to us all. She is happy to share herself amongst us mere humans in the family and let us all have cuddles, kisses and quiet moments.
She has passed her puppy foundation KCGoodCitizen. And has also passed her Bronze (so proud) but she also came NOWHERE in the one and only local show I took her too but she did enjoy the day out as it was an Agricultural show.
She is also a fav with most of the local junior/infant school pupils, and the neighbours too.
She is the best friend of my Dad, with whom she shares biscuits, and the odd drink of beer! They spend their days in the shed, she sleeps as Dad potters about.
But ask my nieces and she's their best friend.
Sitting and listening to Harry Potter books being read in the hammock with one who's 11.
Or sitting having her coat brushed as she listens to music with the other who's 9.
She sits quietly and always has their brother my nephew in sight, he's autistic and where ever he is, Sal is about 2 inches behind always.
To my Mom and she's great company as they share the sofa as Sal is the only one who shares Mom's interest in watching Coronation street.
To my better half she's company when he goes fishing or watching football, soon she'll be joining him on short runs when she's a little older.
When she has a spare moment she plays football with my 3 year old nephew who calls her his sister saying he has three the third being Sal.
Or she can be found guarding the baby dolls in the pram for my 6 year old niece.
Sal can also be found being a walking aid to their 18 month old sister my youngest niece who toddles down the garden with the pup investigating flower tubs that might need altering in some way.
To my cats Oscar and Cleo she is mostly to be ignored, :) mind you they are both 21 this year.
And to me she's my dog Sal a Staffordshire bull terrier.
Just thought I'd add this for no reason, other than Love me Love my Dog and they do.

i too have a staffy, who is 18 months old and like yours he is truly one of the family, only problem i have is my cat is definetly the boss (it is a moody bad tempered cat) and jakey now keeps out of his way. He is brilliant with my 3 year old daughter, he follows her round and answeres to the name darling when she calls him. i couldnt have wished for a better dog.

i have only had mine for 3 to 4 months as the person he belonged to before was moving and couldnt take him with him. believe it or not he wanted me to have him because i got upset when my mouse died and he said he knew he would be well looked after. so now have 3 kids, 1 dog, 1 cat, 1 mouse and very patient husband.

That's lovely, Karen. :) Just how it should be.
She really has a "dog's life" doesn't she?!

Thanks to all who have replied. I just wanted to share a bit about my dog.
Sal obviously read the Stafford books and decided to follow it to the letter.
In answer to your question no we haven't had her since she was born but since she was 7 weeks 4 days. The rest of her litter are the same it seems, we've meet 3 of the 6 andthey are just the same and the other two are the same much it seems as well as being much loved family dogs.
Yes she does lead a "dogs life" and I hope if I ever come back for another life that I lead the same life ;)
Lel she's in season for the first time at the moment half way through but I'd love for them to meet as you know. She's fickle though forever changing her pals her "new" best friend is a Great Dane called
Nelson. But when he's not in the park then it's a Dobe called Murphy, and his pal Lily a greyhound.
