After a day out with kids and dogs, we stopped for a toilet break at Jedburgh. As eldest daughter and I sat waiting outside the loos with the dogs (2 middle aged huskies!) I realised that Helen wasn't looking at me anymore, but looking over my shoulder while we chatted. I turned around to find a bunch of Japanese tourists trying to take pics of the boys! Needless to say the dogs wouldn't look at the camera(s) and none of the tourists seemed to speak any English! We got them all to wave at us out of the bus window when they left though!!
Has anyone else had any strange people taking their dog's photos?
Lynn & the international stars (hope it doesn't go to their heads!!)

At Crufts this year we had people snapping Hudson most of the day :D We have had people stop their cars and leap out to ask us what he is but not to take piccies :D

Melodysk, I just read your posting about Hudson, and wondered what sort of dog he is so viewed your profile to see if that would say. So, when I saw he was a Malamute, having no idea what one looks like, but have wondered since I saw the breed on Champdogs, I went into your Ice Bay Mals link to see........The humour page had me in absolute stitches :-) and then the little poem "A Tribute to Sam and Ted", well it had me in floods of tears :-( ......sent tingles right down my spine. Just thought I would tell you.

we took the corgi on holiday for 2 weeks in the Loire Valley in June- you are allowed to take dogs into most of the chateaux as long as your husband carries them. So everytime I looked around the Major would be surrounded by busloads of excited French school kids shouting "C'est un renard!!" and whipping out their cameras - they were far too cute to be disabused... I think one kid took about 10 photos of the fox and 1 of the chateau.

Oh did you meet the lovely "Pascale" on your return? Who was more pleased, you or the Major?

hahahahahahahahahaha! :D I forgot to update - Pascale was a crisp, whitecoated, truly humourless Hattie Jaques!! - but she was a very good vet and the paperwork was no prob. The fox tapeworm jab was horrible and piquant - first time Lascaux has ever whimpered. We had to visit Le Cadre Noir riding school in Saumur to make up for Pascale - tour guides are all "les jeunes filles in jodhpurs". I had to make do with the leathery Monsieur Le Caretaker next door who insisted on strutting around the place in Speedos, teaching Lascaux to smoke Gitannes...a top holiday!

;) well that's what the kiddies thought but I'm afraid it was just a Pembroke WC with a tail!. :)
BTW thanks for all your recommendations on Countrymun - I've bought a few good things from them.

i think mine must be featured in photo albums all over the country lol.(mmm..wonder if i should wear a stripey waistcoat an start chargin?). :d :d :d.

A couple of years ago we were walking our two big dogs (when Cuervo was still alive) and two of our bostons, and our friend was with us she had her two Rottie's and a toy poodle. A couple stopped us and asked if we could get them all to sit nice and if we minded if he could take a couple of pics. He was amazed at how well they all got along....:)
We always have people stop us and ask us what breed Taz is (hybrid - wolf/rott), and always asking to use him for stud :( We had a young couple stop us last year while walking through the park to ask about him and wanting to use him on their purbred Great Pyrenese (sp) :( We are happy that we fixed him :)
My dogs love getting their pics taken except for Dozer, but the rest will jump up on our stool or stay where I put them...must be the treat after...:D
ttfn :)
At Christmas we take our two (whippet and whippet-x) to the city centre wearing their 'reindeer gear' and just sit on the bench and people watch. It's so much fun - the dogs LOVE it because everyone wants to pet the 'reindogs' and they often get their pictures taken, and it makes people smile:)

At Crufts this year, my friend Marie & I went back for a couple of extra days to help man the Discover Dogs booth. As we were making out way over, an Indian gentleman from the Calcutta Times or some such rag approached us looking to take a photo of the 4 Munsters. Trouble was his camera was pointed not at the dogs but at us...which we found rather funny and rather unsettling at the same time!

Similar thing happened to us in a park in the city - we were there with Tarot, just skating around and throwing his ball when a group of [i think greek] guys just randomly came over with their camcorder, and started recording him running about!! They didn't speak english, i had NO idea what they were saying to me, but they were really happy they'd got him on tape for some reason?!?!
Weird!!!
