Please help, our 8 month old little angel who has slept without many problems since first getting him as a baby has recently started to scratch at the door during the night. Some times he will scratch just after he has gone to bed, but other times he will wake up at say three in the morning and try his best to dig his way through the kitchen/dining room door. We have tried to leave him and ignore him, but he just carries on, and on, and on. Eventually we have to go down to him as he must be waking the whole street up with the noise :O He is not doing this to get our attention because he needs to go out in the garden as when we let him out he just has a wander for five minutes and comes back in without doing anything! He also knows that he is doing wrong as by the time I get downstairs he is sitting on his bed with that "I didn't do anything wrong, I'm just a puppy" look on his face that he has perfected. Also the next morning he has his other "I'm sorry" look on his face while I'm giving him his breakfast. Some nights I can hear him snoring before I am even back in bed!

Any help would be gratefully received as otherwise I will be buying a new door on a monthly basis :(

Maybe try putting a gate in the door way, might be easier to ignore him then, and put a radio on a talk station and leave that on quietly.
