HELP!! 2 days ago i bought a smal terrior-chiwawa mix at a local pet store.i had asked the pet store workers what he had been fed and bought the same kind of food, they had said since she was only a small dog and a puppy (going on 8 weeks) she wouldnt eat much, the problem is she isnt eating at all.she refuses any food and treats we give her except for one thing, she eats the cats food,,which makes her vomit.could it just be the heat of the summer of the new home and surroundings that are making my puppy sick? should i change her food? please help!!!
all help greatly appreciated, im very worried

ps. shes also sleeping alot but i thought that was just cause she was a sook and it was hot out..could also be linked to her not eating?

my pup did not eat until the third day but i would strongly advise you get her to the vet if you have not already done so for a check up. Puppy's should not be bought from a pet shop as you can not be certain of there background i.e parents
Also has she been wormed.

Your puppy should be checked by a vet within two to three days of going to its new home. Not eating for a day or so is normal as is sleeping a lot.
Don;t let her eat cat food - it will make her sick it's too rich for her tummy. Try some boiled rice and chicken meat see if that helps. More importantly, get her to the vets asap just to make sure she is OK. Buying from a pet store often results in poorly puppies I'm afraid so you do need to rule out any other cause.

Hi are you in this country England? if so why are you buying from pet shops? and which pet shop and where? you need to read about puppy mills/farms on another thread that might make you understand why not to buy from these places, any way you have and now you have a pup which is ill you need to see a vet as soon as you can.
