A friend of mines (very small) Springer has been diagnosed with Calcification of one of the neck bones - sounds like one that holds skull to spine? - he is currently on steroids, and after 3 weeks house rest he is now able to have short walks on a harness. Problem she has is that he is a very active little dog, used to loads of free running, chasing balls and swimming, he is getting bored rigid.
She has been told that if his condition worsens his only hope is an operation to fuse the bones together, but this would mean 8 weeks cage rest , he would go crazy.
Has anyone any experience of this sort of problem, particulary the op, and also how she could keep him stimulated without using his neck too much.
Many thanks
Hayley (& little Henry! :))
