our dear little Shep has been doing absolutely great for about 2 1/2 weeks (border terrier). he is 14 weeks old and already knows to go to the door when it's time to pee. but then today, just for kicks it seemed, he peed two times in a row in the house. i know he is still a young guy and i anticipate replies telling me that accidents will still happen but i want to double make sure that this is somewhat normal. this is our first dog :). he really seemed to have this going to the door thing licked

also: i caught him both times and said, "NO!" and took him directly outside where he finished. he seemed utterly ashamed of himself.

thanks.

As you say, he is still very young. I know when libby was a pup and we thought we had the house training cracked, she looked us straight in the eye, and pee'd on the carpet. We were gobsmacked! Don't really know why the 'little madam' did it, but we just put it down to experience :) I'm sure there's no problem with your pup, just a puppy being a puppy!!

Yup, Totally and perfectly normal!

An, no he is not 'ashamed' of what he has done, he has no concept of shame, as im sure u realise, he is trying to appease your anger, thats all. If you sounding cross at almost ANYTHING, hed look like that!
