Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / BYE EVERYONE!
- By guest [gb] Date 18.07.03 02:27 UTC
i had been a user of champdogs for sometime, not always posting but merely observing some of the posts and replys.
i have posted on champdogs, but have always felt let down by particualar replys to certain posts, and not always replys to my own posts.
so i have decided to say bye to all of you that i do know, and to all of you that i dont.
i wish you all well, and i have promised myself not to visit here again.
so goodnight everyone and godbless you and all your dogs.
Helen.

Hello Helen

I was wondering why your posts were removed. I seem to have missed something. Surely its not that bad. I love the people who give out crap replies to others, it reminds me how nice I am. Mail me and let me know what has P####d you off so much.

That's a shame. I've left twice before now but not lasted for long. I have to say though that this site is way better than many others. You think the replies are bad on here they are nothing compared to other sites. I think Admin. does a good job on here, don't always agree with what's deleted but still think that thisis one of the best sites going.
- By LIZZY [us] Date 18.07.03 13:21 UTC
wots happened??? surely nothing someones said can be that bad! :) i know it can get a little heated in here sometimes but now iv just learnt to sit back and laugh at some peoples comments as its no good typing- someone is always going to take it the wrong way. please stay on the board, it will get better. email me it you want, IMHO its still a very good board and if iv gained nothing else from this board at least i know how to do smily faces now!! :) :) :)

Hi Helen
Its a real shame that somethig has upset you so much.
Maybe if you share it people can help....I know myself that I get a bit miffed when certain things are deleted by admin, especially if it is something I was interested in....but sounds like something has really p****d u off.
Stay a bit longer....
are you Helen 2003?

well i would like to say quite the opposite. im staying cause i think you all are great with obvious exceptions gerarde you know who you are.
lets stop putting each other down and take a massive bite out of life.

"when certain things are deleted by admin"

I love the way these threads turn into "lets sl*g Admin off". It is very simple, Admin need not remove any posts if everyone remained civil and did not break the forum terms of service. Everyone agree's to abide by them before they post and when posts are moved to an administration area, we are not to blame. Look to yourselves. YOU are responsible for your own posts, no one else. Posts are never deleted.

I think admin does a brilliant job - this forum is the best I have ever seen - the wealth of experience is astonishing. People can come here, get good, free advice, on a good, free site...and even the heated topics are mostly interesting. Without the T's of S's this would degenerate into a childish mass of stupid postings - so, I for one, am happy with it as the way it is :)

Thanks admin :)
- By EMMA DANBURY [gb] Date 18.07.03 15:24 UTC
people are very fast to complain but very slow to complement so i totally agree with chloe.
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 18.07.03 15:56 UTC
It's a real shame, Helen, that you have decided to leave. Of course, like you sometimes, I've felt disappointed to replies (or non replies) to my postings - sometimes feel like Nelly Nomates :( - but the beauty of Champdoggers can also be its downfall - there are so many diverse people on this board - that there are bound to be occasions when the people who answer your posts are on a completely different wavelength! Just think of the number of different breeds there are, the different types of people who own them, the different types of carer of them, the ages, sexes, nationalities - and it's surprising that we can agree on anything at all - apart from the one link - that our dogs are the most wonderful in the world!

Just think how devastated we were a couple of weeks ago when Champdogs was off line for 24 hours or so - think of the amount of alcohol/chocolates/prozac consumed!!!

Admin does a great job most of the time -like us all!

Enjoy life Helen - it's too short to get upset about a website - as my sister says - don't sweat the petty stuff - and don't pet the sweaty stuff (I think I've got that right)

- By Lady Dazzle [gb] Date 18.07.03 16:32 UTC
Well I for one think that this board would deteriorate into oblivion if it weren't for Admin.

We all become members on here knowing the T of S, there are very few of us who haven't made a mistake and had posts deleted or removed in the time we have posted on here. I know I have!! :-D

If I am not mistaken this is the second time that the originator of this thread has left the board, god knows why. There is no way in the world are all the posters on this board going to agree with everything that is posted either as a question or as a reply, but we should be adult above to realise that and not get our knickers in a twist.

This board as well as life has a cross section of people on here most good, some particularly bad. By doing what you have done and leaving the board, you are letting the bad ones win!!!!!!!

I can't believe anyone has had more removed than me. But in most cases, on reflection, I can see why they were removed. If you want to see what happens on an UN moderated board then there are still a few on the net. Not as many as there was because one by one the trolls and windup merchants are getting them closed down. No one will post for long on a board when they are subjected to the kind of abuse which goes for "Discussion" on some of the boards.

Stick with it Admin, you do a wonderful job!

Best wishes, John
- By steph n millie [gb] Date 18.07.03 21:38 UTC
Im not sl*ging off admin at all..I was just saying that sometimes it gets a bit annoying when things get deleted that I was interested in. Dont take it so personally. Maybe this is what Helen means.
I do think CD is a good message board....but no need to get so defensive.
- By Melodysk [gb] Date 18.07.03 23:42 UTC
Nothing EVER gets deleted Steph ...it may be removed from view but not deleted...and ,as far as I know , that is how come Admin can always spot trolls , even under different names ,especially when they post from the same PC

HTH

Hi Melody.
Isnt removed and deleted the same thing?
i mean, for people looking at the website...if someting has been removed...then they cant see i..which is the same as deleted.
I agree tha admin do do a good job though, and I never disputed that. I just think that sometimes they are a little overly strict (in comparisson to other message boards myself and my other half have been on.)

- By Melodysk [gb] Date 19.07.03 11:28 UTC
No , deleted and removed are not the same thing , Admin has access to the old posts I would think.

I think Admin only appear overly strict to those that are pushing the boundaries IMHO ;)
- By steph n millie [gb] Date 19.07.03 11:33 UTC
Well, I dont think that I am pushing the boundaries to be honest. But yes, I see what you mean, some of the things that some people write do ask to be edited/removed.
I do think that CD is agreat message board and a really good place for people to a: meet new people b: get advice and tips.
We just gotta recognise the trolls.

Just want to say that Helen isn't this one <g> I do post ocasionally when I have something to offer. I have Holly, Harvey, Goldy, Lucky and Milly, springer, gwp, pointers and my sign in name is 'Helen'.

Hi Helen. Not spoken to you since Ukgundogs has been down.

Best wishes, John
- By Helen [gb] Date 19.07.03 18:39 UTC
Hi John,

I checked it again last week and it was still down :-( How's things?

The dogs are well into their grouse counts and are doing exceptionally well. Harvey has really come into his own this time and is working beautifully.

Had an email from Darryn, he'll have it up and running as soon as possible.

Glad to hear your having a good time, the season will be on us again before we can turn round.

Best wishes, John
- By lucyandmeg [gb] Date 18.07.03 21:47 UTC
If everyone agreed with everything that was said, surely a message board would be pointless and boring, it just wouldn't be normal - a little healthy discussion never hurt anyone, as long as it adheres to the terms of service of course!!
Personally i have been trying to log in all evening and its taken me 3 hours - why... because i'm addicted!!
Keep up the good work everyone!!!!
- By steph n millie [gb] Date 18.07.03 21:57 UTC
THANK YOU!!
I totally agree!
People should be entitled to their own oppinions! Well said. I do think that sometimes admin are too strict...but I was not sl*gging them off.
A message board is for people to give their own views....
oh..and it took me bl**dy ages to get on here this eve as well :)
- By Lily Munster [gb] Date 18.07.03 21:50 UTC
Methinks the "guest" doth protest too much!

If as "Helen" says she has posted on here, why is she still logged on as a guest and not fully registered? Didn't think this could happen?

Admin does a brilliant job and always displays a great deal of tact with replies.
- By Kerioak Date 19.07.03 12:05 UTC
Unlike some of us :)

If someone wants to leave then just leave - don't make a fuss abut it.

If you are making a fuss about it and signing on as a guest rather than a much used identity your posting is automatically suspect.

Some questions invite answers that the poster is not going to like - this is obvious so if you don't want the answers then don't ask the questions

If anybody has a problem then mail Admin directly !!

I had a bit of an upset last week and was all sorted out by talking directly and in an adult and calm matter !!

Admin is a very nice PERSON , yes a person !!!

Don't air your complaints on here as it doesn't do anybody any good and keep up the good work !!!! :)
