Hi all, just like to say that l had my dogs blood panels done last week & got the results back last night. All 9 of them are fine & nothing to worry about!!!!! :) I`m v pleased :)
Laddie, one of my males has shown slight anaemia, he has been on a bit of a diet & he is also the one who was on Rymadil for a long time so the vet suggested put him on suitable diet, retest him in couple of mths & see how he is then, but it`s nothing to worry about he said.
So if anyone has any worries about getting it right feeding their dogs raw let me say it can be done :) I`ve been feeding them this way now for nearly 2yrs & when I started I had no internet connection & only 1 book! Now I`ve got internet, lots of books & a lot more confidence..........& lovely healthy dogs :)

Hiya Terri, he`s great thanks :) At the chewing stage right now tho!!!!! He`s on raw food as well & has been since a pup.
My first book was Richard Pitcairns Natural Health for Dogs and Cats, you can read about it at the link below

http://www.drpitcairn.com/index.html

They were on that diet for about 6mths & then I changed them over to Billinghursts all raw diet. The reason for the change over was because there was no way I was going to be able to cool down the cooked food in Pitcairns diet & in the winter I still use Pitcairns recipes. For me it`s one of the best books I have on diets, it gives the nutritional values of all the recipes & foods so you can mix n match them :) The all raw food diet is quicker but I found once I got into a routine with the Pitcairn recipes I was OK! Mind the only cooking is stuff like porridge/rice/barley etc which I did in a huge pan & the pulses I did in the pressure cooker.
It`s terribly sad whats happened to your dogs & I feel for you really. Maybe diet is a factor???
Hey if you come over here come & visit me, it`d be lovely to see you & Andy again! My new house will be finished by then (or it better be:) ) and we are only a few hrs from Antonio.
You take as well :)

Great news all round Christine.

I could not agree with your comments more. Mines are all doing very well on it.

One of my vets I use for emergency only over my regular vet works in a huge practice and was very critcal of the natural diet a few years back. When Holly had her pups 12 weeks ago we had to take her to him as our regular vet was unavaliable . What a change in his attidute ,I could not believe it he openly was saying he was wrong with some of the comments he had said to me a few years back. He thought Holly was in incredible condition for at the time having 6 x 5 day old puppies. Although he said he would not promote it , he certainly could say I have done my dogs proud with it.

Years ago he was trying to force SP down my throat for my dogs constant upset tummy, lucky for me being a chatter box I met a lady in the waiting room who told me about the diet she fed her dogs. I changed right away and have never looked back.
