Has anyone else seen the film 'Best in show'? I watched it for the first time a few days ago and thought it was hilarious! An absolute must for anyone who thinks people who show dogs are a really strange bunch!

I wasn't crazy about it, but if you watch it again it grows on you!! I don't know which kind of person I'd be like though!!

Anyone who knows me, don't answer!

I bought it on DVD, it wasn't as good as i thought it was going to be. The best ones have got to be the Shitzu owners, they were funny :)

Bear,

So do you think people who show dogs are a really strange bunch !?

Did you get the link for the long-haired GSDs?

hi norm.

yeah I think show folk are by and large a bit wierd, that includes people who show cats and rabbits and guinea pigs!
I mean, some people take it soooo seriously, and to them their dog is nothing more than a potential trophy winner and ego booster, and I don't know how people who own certain breeds can justify the life they give their dogs ( and cats) just so they keep the right weight, coat etc for showing, I refer to a recent article in Your Dog magazine about a breeder and shower of Lancashire heelers, who gives her dogs five minutes a day exercise so they keep their correct build!
I also have heard some terrible things from G.S.D show people about the non standard colours and longcoats, and owning a wonderful white longcoat shepherd myself I know some of the crap they put about to be totally ridiculous, and it blooming well annoys me!
I didnt get any link about G.S.D longcoats!

I don't know how people can be like that. I've shown dogs for over 20 years but firstly they are dogs. If anybody saw my 2 SWD's now they wouldn't think that they would be like show dogs on Friday for Midland Counties the next day. My black and white bitch is at the moment black, and my cream bitch matches!!

Oh well it's a good job that we are all different.

Does anyone know where I can get this film from on video? I'd love to see it but I've only seen it in the shops on DVD.
