I have an 8 month old springer who is very lively and always on the go, he loves his food and I am already feeding him more than the recommended amount the problem is he is so skinny even though he eats everything, his actual weight is 17kgs which is ok for his age but it worries me that you can see his ribs. I started him on JWB but he is now on Autarky.

Sounds fine, your should be able to see his ribs, and 17kgs sounds a good weight for a youngster.

Chill out!!!!

All my dogs would have almost visible ribs if they had a springers coat, they eat a raw diet, have bags of energy, and their weight/condition stays stable. That said, all of them would eat as much as i gave them, if i was that daft, which i aint (okies, im a cruel cruel doggy mom!).
It is in the nature of dogs to eat as much as they can, but it is better if anything to keep them slighty underwieght, than to risk them becoming overweight.

No need to panic yet. 17Kg sounds fine so don't worry.

Being a springer he probably won't fill out until he is 18mths +.
