Topic Dog Boards / Health / when to worm puppies
- By Huntaholic [us] Date 13.07.03 15:27 UTC
Hello,
I am new to the board and was needing to ask for some information. When should I worm my puppies and what should I Use? We have a walker bitch who whelped her first litter 4 weeks ago. Due to 2 terrible cases of mastitis, we were advised by our vet to wean the pups last week. We did, we fed them on bottles for a few days while switching them over to milk and puppy chow mixed in a pan. Now they are eating fine, but due to the early weaning, I feel we need to get them wormed as well.
Also, when should they have their first shots? I worry about parvo especially.

Normally pups are wormed at least twice by seven or 8 weeks with a modern wormer (Panacur, Drontal etc), or two weekly with Piperazine starting at 3 weeks of age.
