Topic Dog Boards / General / Advice Needed - No dogs in lease terms
- By Stafflover [gb] Date 11.07.03 09:44 UTC
hi all,

Think i know the answers i am going to get but wondered if anyone could give me any advice all the same ! Me and my partner have jsut moved into a flat with our dog that we have raised from a pup and have this morning received a letter from the solicitors of the management company of the estate stating that we have breached the terms of the lease in keeping a dog and must get him rehomed immediately ! As dog lovers you will understand that its not just a case of getting rid of him like a bit of used furniture ! I really don't know what to do as i would rather sell up and move than get rid of him but we are just not in the finanical position at the moment.

Has anyone ever had this problem/know of anything i may be able to do ?

Check the tenancy agreement that you signed. If it stipulates 'no pets' then you have a problem.Wshing you lucki

If you bought the flat - did your solicitor not point this out? If not, then you *may* have some redress there... if, however, you chose to ignore it and thought you could get away with it....

I suggest you write back and ask them for a period in which you can rehome your dog, if you can't afford to resell now :( What a shame. Good luck
