Topic Dog Boards / Health / Dry skin/dobe's tum a bit sore

Just wondered whether anyone else had encountered this. I've noticed that ever since we've had Cam the (what should be) soft, pink skin under his tummy and inside his hind legs has always been a bit dry and very slightly scaly. However, the other day it appeared a bit sore - he's obviously been scratching it. He does itch quite a bit but not overly so. I mentioned it to the vet today and she's prescribed a steroid cream (which I'm not ecstatic about) but couldn't offer any particular insight as to what might be causing it. He's fed a very natural diet and isn't exposed to any obvious allergens. He was wormed about two weeks ago (and was wormy).

Any insights?

This pup is very high maintenance!

hamble suffered with this. vet said it was dry skin and a touch of excema. gave me steroid cream as well. i find bathing the area with hibiscrub which you can buy at your local chemist and then putting plenty of sudocrem on usually does the trick.
