Hi

At what age does everyone change there pups food to Adult food?

My rough x border collie pup is nearly 7mths. At the moment he is on pedagree complete. The wrapper says that they should be on this untill 18mths, but i feel that this is way to long?

Please advise...

Thanks
Claire

I moved Ash when he started eating the other boys food.

Personally, I would move them when their teeth and mouth are big enough to cope with the big nuggets. I ahve never found the need to go to Junior either.

Rather then change completely over to adult, from 6-7 months I mix the puppy and the adult food until they are around 12 months. Keeps the protien levels down especially if they are a bit hyper but gives them some extra fat and vitamins that are still required at this age.

Not a bad move.

At least by taking some of the protein out you stop putting so much pressure on the body to grow, gorw, grow.
