My advice is don't breed from your bitch on her second season, she will still be too young. Use the time you have to research the breed thoroughly, perhaps do a bit of showing so that people in the same breed can see her and you could discuss her faults and virtues. Hopefully she might do a little winning, and you would then know that she was at least suitable in terms of breed standards. Then she will need to pass a number of KC/BVA health examinations, your own vet giving her the once over would not suffice. Read, read and read some more, and talk to lots of different people in the breed, they are easiest met at Dog Shows.

Please wait till she is older and have all the relevant health checks done.Do some research and find the most suitable(not the nearest ) stud for her.I am living with the produce of 2 pet staffies who had no health checks-even though they were the apple of their owners eye and to them the best dog in the world'm sure. After 18 months of surgery and pain,£3500+ in vets bills and lots of heartache we are going to have to have him put to sleep in the near future.
Regards Archer.
