Hi all,
My 8 week old beardie came home with us on Thursday. He is mad as a hatter and has not stopped since we got him home!! The only problem is that to start, his poo was solid and he was going just after meals. Now its runny and he seems to strain sometimes and will go in 3 or 4 different places. I havent changed his food - he is on beta puppy - and he was last wormed 28/6. He also sometimes (not often) drags his bum across the grass.
I was thinking of changing his food to something else as I have seen on other posts on the forum that beta pup can cause runny poo, but I don't understand why it has happened now???
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Sam x
Edited to add - he has now been changed to bakers complete and has days of runny poo and then solid poo. I really don't understand??!!

Hi
You need to worm him again dragging his bum on the floor is a classic sign of worms or anal gland but i would rule out a blocked anal gland because of the upset tummy. I use Drontal wormers they are best, try this before you think of changing his diet.

Hi Sam
my 10 week old Basset is on Beta, and having probs with mushy poo's. Was advised to switch him to Burns as apparently Beta is renowned for causing loose poos.
Havent yet got around to switching over tho,as have had so much on.
I also worm my dogs with Drontal and they're great.
My mum has a 4month old Norwich Terrier who was wormed, but is now rubbing his derierre on the ground. She was also thinking his prob might be his anal glands.
Let me know how his poo's get on....god that sounds gross doesn't it..lol the things us mums have to worry about :D :D

Sam,
My vet advised that puppies should be wormed once a month until they are six months old and then every three months.
