we live in glasgow, scotland so somewhere not too far.
does anyone have any suggestions of anywhere that welcomes dogs. leaving her behind is not an option.
thanks in advance.

I know of a place in the Lake District, called Low Briery, they have cottages, caravans and river side lodges. Alternatively if you pick up a copy of "Your Dog" magazine from WH Smiths, they have plenty of Dog friendly accommodation advertised.
Enjoy your hols :)

Hiya,
We just stayed in a fab pet friendly B&B found through pets welcome book. Would highly recommend if the others are anything like it. It has self catering as well as B&B and some pet friendly pubs too!

Im also in Glasgow. We go on holiday to Aviemore and around it. Most places up there let you take your pets, although this will be our first year with a dog.

Most of my holidays are spent in the Highlands of Scotland with my GSD - around Shiel Bridge area. The cottage company we use is www.cottages.co.uk and are exceptionally dog-friendly - so much so that if you TAKE a dog there is a DISCOUNT of £25 :-) There are some cottages that don't allow pets - but you can do a search for the cottages that do allow dogs. However, it depends on what type of holiday you are looking for. I go on walking holidays and obviously this isn't to everyone's taste - and you also have a puppy (you don't say her age) so she won't be up to day long hikes! ;-) However, this particular company does cottages all over the UK - so there is something for everyone!
Happy holiday!

If you go into WH Smiths or similar and go through their travel section (UK) there are a couple of books that are solely about pet friendly places to stay (I think Trudi Mostrum has done one of them). They will give you an idea. Also, Hoseasons holidays are meant to be pet friendly.

Northumberland is a nice place to visit. We've just recently moved and love it (we've got 5 dogs). There are beaches, forests, hills (dogs must be ok around sheep in the hills though). There is a website for dogfriendly places to stay. If you do a search in google for "pet friendly holidays" it should come up with the site.

There's a doggy holiday place in the East Neuk of Fife which has accom especially for those who have canine companions. The holiday is actually geared towards the dog rather than the human! I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the place but if you were to do a web search, I'm sure you would find it!

Hi, the place in Fife is Dog-Days Activity Holidays,
http://www.dog-days.co.uk/
the lady who runs it is on another list that I'm on (although I forget which one) and she seems really nice.
It's definitely somewhere I'd like to visit one day.
hope that helps,
Jo
