Shout for Peanuts as she has Newfies and is a groomer!! :D
Soz I can't help, I only have short-haired short-nosed mental bouncy things
one of which isn't good at swimming :D
Don't know much about bleached Newfie hair......sure Peanuts will be able to help you though.
:)
Kind Regards

does the coat seem like it is tinted with bronze or brown, if so this is allowed the the breed standered and you will see it on most black newfs , it could be one of two things . puppy undercoat that is now rising to the surface ready to come out or like you say bleached slightly in the sun.
But don't panic as long as your dog has not gone blonde it's fine.
Even my little girl who has always been blacker than black is showing signs of bronze tingeing after all this hot weather we have had and she still does very well as it is not held against them in the show ring.
You could use a shampoo which is for black coats this may help slightly but there are no fast and sure methods of clearing it.

Which show are you going to , maybe see you there.
Hope this helps

Hi Peanuts ,
I have a ten month brown bitch Newfie ( love her to death ) but i have noticed in the last few months she's begun to smell. She never did before , but since we've been working her each Sunday she has a definate cheesy sort of smell to her coat.
She isnt alone , as almost all the newf's at the water group do and im presuming its because by the time we all get out the water with wet suits that the dogs have partially dried and thats what causes the damp smell.Obviously bathing her weekly would prevent this ( but i wont do that as bad for coat etc etc .. ) just wondered if you may have any tips , if not im happy enough putting up with a smelly pooch as long as shes happy ! but if theres a way round it why not!!
