Do you vary your dogs diet, use different types of dried complete food, sometimes meat and mixers etc. or do you stick to the same thing and type all of the time? What are your reasons for feeding the way you do?
Thanks

I think Gus does get bored of dried Complete . He is on Hills . I now you arent supposed to mix it with anything but i do admit to adding sardines ( which he loves ) - also cooked chicken, small pieces of cheese and now I have read a post about tripe I must admit I will be adding that although it looks vile :(
We often treat ouselves so I think its ok to treat your baby too :)

That's the good thing about feeding a raw diet - there is always variety :) My dogs get whatever veg I happen to have at the time. Using the AMP raw meat, they get a mixture of turkey, chicken, rabbit, beef etc. Also, chicken wings, thighs etc - raw eggs, rice, pasta, offal, pilchards, sardines, fruit (raspberries are in season :) ), nuts etc etc. Much better diet than me sometimes :D

Raspberries? Wow! :)
Do you just mix the lot up together?
In the past, all the dogs that we've had have had tinned dog food with a biscuit type of mixer and leftovers. Now that we have Molly and she's always been fed the complete dry dogfood, I suppose I am doing what she's used to, but it does seem ever so boring, and with 3 children in the house, I'm throwing leftovers in the bin. It seems a bit daft to me to pay quite so much for the complete dog food and to throw food away, but obviously I want to do what is best for her.
Jo

Mine have complete in the morning, and meat/mixer/leftovers for their supper.
The thought of throwing food away with a dog in the house.....well, words fail me!! :D :D

What type of dog have you got? How much bigger is your dogs evening meal than her breakfast?
(Where do you get all the smiley faces from)

I have 4 dalmatians. I give them about half the recommended quantity of complete for their breakfast (say one scoop) then their supper is about a scoop of mixer, with about half a pound (half a block of Forthglade meat) of meat. If there's leftovers as well, I reduce the quantities of the mixer and meat to compensate and avoid overfeeding. I've done this for years, and they've all thrived.

I would like to say that my boys get all the left overs, unfortunately they often have to fight my husband for them :O

No, I don't mix it up. They get the basic rice/pasta/wholemeal mixer plus whatever meat/fish and then I just add, on top, the rest. It's fascinating watching to see what they'll eat first :) Each dog has it's favourites and sometimes they surprise you - but you have to watch carefully as it's all gone in about 30 seconds or less :)

Hiya
Well, mine...all 7...have dry complete. Most of the time, they have the same every day...and they're in great condition.
Mind you, I always cook too many veggies for hubby and I so the dogs get the rest, and they occasionally have a boiled or scrambled egg each!
Take care
