Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Kongs - what to put in them?
- By Josilou [gb] Date 01.07.03 12:35 UTC
I've just bought a black kong for my labrador. What should I fill it with? She's fed on dry food (Hill's Science Plan) and normally has 1 cup in the morning and 3 cups in the evening.
Thanks

Meat or fish spread/paste is good, takes ages for them to get it out.

Thanks for the suggestions. How much stuff do you put in them?

hiya there's a website for the kong company www.kongcompany.com which has a page of recipies for kongs! it's a bit americanised if you know what i mean but good for ideas.

i sometimes put his food in it, pack it in so it takes ages to get out.

i think really put whatever u like in that's not bad for the dog.

archie really loves more than anything - a kong filled with yoghurt then frozen - looks quite tasty sometimes i think i wouldn't mind one myself!!

Hi, my puppy (ESS x Cocker) loves his Kong and his favourite fillings are a chicken wing (raw) crammed in and that keeps him busy for ages. Also I've put in live yoghurt, cottage cheese, pieces of training treats and then popped it in the freezer. I allow it to defrost just a little before giving it to him. The Kong website is fun and informative.
Good luck.
