I took my seven month old pup to the vets this weekend to check she didn't have urinary infection. She had being alot and sometimes in bed.

the vet tested a small sample and found glucose in the sample. He is treating her for infection this week and i need to return next week with another smaple for him to test for glucose again. This could possibley mean she is diabetic.

Does anyone have any experience of diabetes in a young dog, or could anyone direct me to reliable sources to read about the condition.

Hopefully, when we go back the test won't show up glucose again, but if it does i would like to have as much info about the condition as poss.

Quite likely you will find everything is ok when the second sample is taken. I've no experience in diabetes in one so young although I did once have a Labrador who went diabetic late in life.

Hope things go well for you.

Regards, John
