Hi

Please can you let me know what age a pup usally starts to cock its leg?

I have read that it happens when they are sexually mature, but at what age would this be roughly?

My pup is 6 1/2 months?

It depends on the pup and the breed :) Some breeds mature earlier than others ..some never cock their legs , some cock them early :)

Charlie started cocking his leg a about a month back, and after a few failed starts (i.e trying to lean his weight on the leg that was cocked while we were out in the woods, and going tumbling down a hill  ), he marks *everything* when we're out - lamposts, car tyres, gateposts, fences - even if he doesn't 'do anything' he still stops and cocks his leg :) Must be like when my nephew was first potty trained, and kept asking to go to the toilet when he didn't need to, because it made him feel like a big boy :D Males eh? ;)

Gus is the same - does it every couple of bushes or so :)
( Showing off i think :) )
