My grandparents Mr R & Mrs E Pain (branflic) have just had a litter of Cocker Spaniels, altogether there was 5 but now there is only 3. The two goldens died suddenly. The three blacks are fine for now but this has happened before to alot of people we know. There was one litter of 12 and they all died. We think that there might be something in the food that they feed the mothers that may be passing a virus or infection through into the puppies. The food they feed them is Winalot. We think it is because they use infected animals. If this has happened to anyone could they please e-mail me on vixen946@hotmail.com so we could try to sort this out. Something must be done! hi beth ...the leading cause of death in puppies is hypothermia and hypoglycemia..........hopefully the mother was on a 30 percent protien 20 percent fat diet prior to whelp...this is crucial !!!!!!.....and contributes to poor health post partum.if they are not on that balance,too low a percentage of fat or protien is bad when they are pregnant.....there are virus's like herpes that can be fatal but that would not be from the food....tell them to switch her to eukanunba....premium preformance.....plus a vet check....

How old are the pups now?
It is possible they could have Fading Puppy Syndrome. This can be caused by a number of things, viral and bacterial infections are two of them.
If you think it could be FPS let me know and I will forward you details of a cure which saved 4 of mine.
