Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Changing to Naturediet or Arden Grange?
- By mariab [gb] Date 26.06.03 10:29 UTC
I have been researching the above two feeds and I am thinking of changing to one of the above foods.

He food he is on at present (Pedigree Chum with ordinary mixer) I dont think he particularly enjoys because he just picks at it and sometimes leaves it, his skin is quite dry and flaky so I would like to change to something else to see if he improves.

Can you let me have your opinions on it if you are using it, and what do I mix it with - complete food or ordinary mixer?

I have Min my oldie Lab on Nature diet lite as she had had colitis for four years on and off. She has since been on this now two months been totally free of runny poo and smelly wind and so I would recommend this to anybody who has a dog with a similar condition.

I know there are various people who feed Nature diet as well and have seen lots of postive feedback about it. Also with Arden Grange. They are both good foods and it will depend on the individual dog to how they are with it as each dog is different !
Hope this helps.

Both Nature Diet and Arden Grange are complete foods - for a dog with a flaky skin especially I would be reluctant to mix them with anything else........

I feed both. My IGs get Arden Grange for breakfast and Arden grange and Nature Diet at night. The whippets do really well on Arden grange also but I put minced chicken with theirs.

My greyhound had bad digestive problems which have completely disappeared since I started feeding her naturediet, her coat is better and she is much happier. I buy direct from them 10 cases at a time, which works out at 47p per pack - delivery normally a couple of days after ordering

I haven't used nature Diet but have used Arden Grange - and often recommend it. Its high quality and very tasty (so the dogs think!) It is high in protein/fats though so it depends whether it suits his temprament/lifestyle. If his dry skin is diet related AG should fix it. Dont mix it with anything, they love it just as it is.

I feed my 17 month old GSD bitch Naturediet. She was on Arden Grange - which is also a high quality food - but she seems to prefer the fact that Naturediet is more of a "wet" food (rather than dry nuggets). She is fit and healthy, has no skin problems and her coat is really glossy.
