Hello everyone-

My little girl is 57 days "pregnant". I mated her with a handsome stud when she was in heat at the 11th, 12th and 13th day. I didn't witness the tie but I'm sure they mated because of her behaviors and his when they were together. She came home all moody ... not depress but different and she has the behavior of a soon to be mom, but does not look like one. She has a small belly and her nipples are not milky or big. She weighted 9.5 lbs before she got pregnant and now she is at 11 lbs. She gained some weight toward the first 4 weeks but hasn't gained any weight at all. She had the appetite during the first 4 weeks and she doesn't eat on her own. I've switched her dog food once and I've been hand feeding her for the last week with dog food mixed with Gerber Baby food plus a vitimum every morning. I don't want to take her to the vet since she is due next week but at the same time, I am concern and nervous. Could she had a miscarriage? Is this a false pregnancy? Any suggestions? I appreciate your help and your comments.

She could have reabsorbed the pups, or she may just have a single pup, you should be able to feel movement by now of the pups. Your best best is to take her to the vet, if it is only one puppy it may be too big for her to deliver. What breed is she? 1.1/2lbs isn't alot of weight to gain if she is pregnant. Usually with my girls the weight piles on around 5 weeks and continues right up to the week of delivery!

If I were you I would take her to the vet, to put your mind at ease and just to confirm that she is actually pregnant, sometimes a change in food makes them gain weight............I hope I'm wrong!
