Each dog , no matter what the breed is diffrent in its personality .
If you are looking for a good Staffordhsire Terrier I would go to a reputable breeder and ensure your dog comes from a good line and has a decent pedigree . Do not buy a dog from someone in the local rag who has no traceable line to show you.
Most show dogs are bred for consideration of temperamnet and that is why i say ensure you have a good breeder .
I have a cat with my Staffy . Although he sometimes tries to chase her and often wants to play with her , he has never tried to harm her . If you let your pup know whats acceptable and what isnt from an early age you should be ok .
With regard to "putting with another" , you will be fine if your dog has a decent temperament . Gus loves all dogs and I have never had reason to be wary of him while around others . But people do say you should never leave two alone in the same room without supervision . That can go for other breeds too.

I have 2 ISBTs 2 cats 2 rats and generally look after other peoples dogs. I find Bullys get on well with all dogs but particularly thier own kind.
