my son has a 7 month old puppy who seems to be eating all the time. How big do these dogs get and how much will he eventually weigh?

hI......WEIMS do eat a lot as babies (and 7 mths is still very much a baby)....dogs should be between 24-27 inches at the withers and bitches 22-25 inches..........as for weight there is no stipulation.....but at a guess my 2 yr old bitch is about 7 stone (ish) and she is 24 inches at withers.hope this helps.

An adult weimaraners ideal weight should be between 30 - 35 kg, bitches obviously a little lighter than the males. At 7 months old your puppy should be on 3 meals a day breakfast, lunch and tea. Depending on what you are feeding they should have around £450-500g of food per day split into the three meals. If you would like to e mail me privately I will be more than happy to help you. kidmal.weimaraners@ntlworld.com

Hi Lynn,

I also have a Weimaraner aged 7 months. He actually weighs 31kg. Do you think this is too heavy for his age ? I am feeding 510kg split into 3 meals a day as advised on the Arden Grange bag, and he is getting 2 x 10 mins walks per day, plus free running arouind the park for about 15 mins each day. Your comments would be much appreciated, or indeed anyone elses who reads this.

Thanks
Dave
