My Staff is now 8 months old and everything is going well that was until last week when she came into season.
This isnt the problem the problem is she has gone off her food i put her food out and she picks at it and yesterday didnt eat at all.
Normally she is the pig of the house and even eats more than me "thats impressive" just wondered if it was to do with been on heat or just the weather any help would be great thanks

Could well be the season. My Anna still eats when in season (Well, she would, she's a Labrador!) but she really looks miserable. Being in season seems to affect some bitches more than others.
Regards, John

I don't know what time you usually feed her, but if it is the warm weather try feeding her in the evening when the heat has cooled down, she should feel a bit more hungry then.

Its probably her season, my bulldogs always go off their food for a few days when in season, and in the hot weather they are never interested in eating until the evening when its cooler.

If that's what's convenient for you and your dog is healthy and usually eats well, why change. Some folk stick to one type of food and others buy what's 'on offer' at the supermarket. We feed our dogs dry biscuit (the shop's own brand) and raw minced meat of different kinds. It comes in frozen packs the same size as a tin, the dogs eat one each day each split between 2 meals. We don't do the whole BARF thing but we do add a vitamin supplement.
Anyway the choice is yours. You do what is best for you, all I would add is that the proprietry brands are 'probably' best!!

p.s BARF stands for bones and raw food, I think, although I have seen a different title but along the same lines. To go the 'whole hog' I believe one of the things recommended is to NOT feed biscuit!!
