Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Hand stripping a Border Terrier...

I know there are some experienced BT owners out there who may be able to over me some advice - we are hand stripping our year old BT ourselves for the first time. Can you confirm what we should do with his facial hair (especially under his chin). Is it left long or short? Trimmed with scissors or stripped? He is not a show dog just an adored pet!

Hi Liz.
If the coat is very long, I usually use thinning scissors around the "beard". Never take it all off, if he is a pet, do it to a level you are happy with.
Dawn.
