Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this. My son was in charge of his 3rd grade class hamster and today after school our dog killed it. How do I discipline him for this? More important, how do I get my son to understand that his new dog is not evil! :(

Is it your son or your dog you want to discipline? the dog was doing what dogs do, and had it been a mouse or rat come into the house you would be pleased with your dog, so no don't discipline your dog. Your Son well I supose that depends on whether you had told to keep it out of the way of the dog, if so then yes you should discipline your son. If you didn't explain to your son about what may happen if the dog could get at the hamster, and that it is what dogs were put on this earth to do, then yes you should discipline yourself.
Sad for the son and the hampster, I guess a trip to get a replacement is in order.

If I called it what I really think Admin would remove my post from the Board. Plus, I try not to be nasty to children, even to nasty children.
