My puppy started off with Autarky and he loved it and was on it until he was 4 months old. I used to poor hot water over it and drain it immediately, it seemed to make it tastier. Although I think he did very well on it the side effects for my dog were braking wind (incredibly smelly - and particularly unpleasant when confined to small spaces like the car) and very smelly poo and a bit of scratching. I have changed him to James Wellbeloved now and all side effects have vanished. You can get Autarky from Tesco.

Hi
I've been using Autarky for about 16 months now and although my pup went of it a while ago (went off food all together) and I had to feed something else for a while they are all back on it now.
My 3 dogs(1 staffy,2 elkhounds who I show) look great on it with no side effects such as wind etc.My eldest elkie looked terrible before he was on the Autarky and was consistantly placed last in the ring.In the last 12 months he hasn't been out of the first 2 at champ shows-so I have no thoughts of changing!!I have no complaints except for my boys doing too well on it ...so they can only have a small amount or they put on weight-keeps the cost down though.

We have been using it for 4/5 months now for our german pointers. Even the 15 week old seems ok with it . they had the runs when i first switched but now all look good. Autarky have a website but not sure of address but you could probably find it through a search engine and there is a list of suppliers on the site It seems a good food and reasonably priced.

I have been using it on my lot for the last two months, with a pound of chicken or tripe mince split between the four of them on top (to take it up to similar levels of nutrients to the Arden Grange). It seems to be suiting them fine, though I am still going to wait a few months, and may switch them back to the Arden Grange, or alternate it.

I was primarily attracted to the relatively high meat content compared to many dry foods (28% in the adult, and 45% in the puppy), some premium foods even though high in Protein have no more than 22% meat content, and many others have as little as 10%). I also liked the idea of the herbs and vegetables.

The website will tell you where your local stockists are http://www.autarky-foods.com/. I get mine in the lo9cal Jollyes.

It is always best to mix any new food gradually into the old, espedcially with pups as it will invariabley cause a bit of loosness otherwise.

My adult Hungarian Wire Haired Vizslas have been on Autarky for three months and are doing very well on it. My 11 month old HWV changed from Pedigree Advance to it about two months age and I am pleased with her. My Bracco Italiano is not suited to Autarky, he dropped a lot of weight when I put him on it. He now has Burns and looks great on it.
