We are bringing a pup home at 12 weeks as the breeder has agreed to keep him until then due to a holiday we had booked. I am paying £350 for the pup, (worth every penny! :)) , and have offered to pay for the pups food, vaccinations, etc from 8 to 12 weeks, as the breeder is doing us such a big favour. The thing is, this is our first pup, and I haven't a clue how much to offer her. I don't want to put her in the position of having to say that we haven't given her enough if she is out of pocket - and I don't think she would say anything anyway. What would you all suggest?

If you go to pick the pup up complete with a nice bunch of flowers and a Thankyou card, and then just say thanks for all she has done that will help. Then you can simply ask 'and what do we owe you for the vaccinations/extra food/etc' in a more relaxed way. As a guide the Vaccinations are around £35 (depending on the vets), but the food will depend on the type, amount etc.
