Getting fed up with me asking stuff yet??
Is it better to cover part of the crate at night? Does it make any difference or are puppies usually happy with either?
BTW thanks for all your help so far guys. It helps me feel prepared for my new arrival and nice to know there is sooo much help out there :)

Hi I usually cover the cage at night, ive been doing this since my pups were born, so they are used to it when they go to their new homes, I find they sleep better, mind you when theyare wakened they try and pull off the cover through the bars of the cage, caught one climbing up the puppy pen this morning trying to get out and they are only 6 wks old. The cage I used was quite big and covering half to give a den effect worked best for me

I've never covered my crates and have never needed to - I think it depends on the dog. I have no curtains at my bedroom windows - telescopes away lads:D, and my boys stay asleep in their crate until we get up - whatever time that may be. I guess I've been lucky coz I know others who have had to cover to keep out light to get a decent time in bed. Also in the car - some travel better when the crate is covered. Mine didn't - much happier being able to see out.
