Has anyone got any decent advice on getting a 13 week old pup
to eat enough.
She has become very picky since we lost our old girl last monday.
I know that at the moment she is teething which doesn't help.
But she is just so distracted and walks off after a couple of mouthfuls.
She has dropped weight, and I can't risk dropping anymore as she'll be skin
and bone if we don't get her to start eating properly soon.
She is a lively little monster and is typical of any other 'normal' puppy.
I know I may be panicking over small things but I feel that she needs
encouragement to eat....
She'd be quite happy to share her mum's bowl of breakfast.
Although her mum could do with losing weight I don't think that
it's the correct route to encourage.
Any help or advice so greatfully received.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your old girl :=(

It is very rare that a puppy will not eat enough - normally they are sick or under the weather in some way.

Has she reached the stage where she wants to go from 4 meals a day to three?

If you really think she is not getting enough and she wants yours then put some of your food over the top of hers when you have finished and make a big show of it.

My Dobe puppy (now 11 months) is still fed twice a day - breakfast she is quite happy to be distracted from and go out with me, her evening meal she is generally more ready for and would rather eat than be with me!
